Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1958 supplements Regulation (EU) 2019/2144. It sets the test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of motor vehicles with regard to their intelligent speed assistance (ISA) systems and for the type-approval of those systems as separate technical units.
An annex lists the road speed limit signs used in each Member State, on which approval authorities and technical services base their assessment of system performance. It has applied from 6 July 2022. This act has since been changed; for its current form, see the consolidated version on EUR-Lex.
Scope
As its recitals state, Article 6 of Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 requires motor vehicles of categories M and N to be equipped with ISA systems. The act covers vehicles and ISA systems as separate technical units.
