Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1243 supplements Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 and sets detailed rules on alcohol interlock installation facilitation in motor vehicles.
Under Annex I, it must be possible to fit or retrofit an alcohol interlock complying with EN 50436-1:2014 or EN 50436-2:2014+A1:2015. The vehicle system must conform to the relevant vehicle model in the installation document, which conforms to EN 50436-7:2016. It has applied from 6 July 2022.
Scope
Annex I addresses the alcohol interlock installation facilitation system in motor vehicles of categories M and N.
The regulation applies to the following vehicle categories:

Passenger vehicles
N
Goods vehicles
