Overview
This regulation covers electrical and electronic requirements: electromagnetic compatibility and the safety of electric power trains, including rechargeable energy storage systems.
Approval demonstrates that the vehicle or component meets the emission, immunity and electrical safety limits through testing at an authorised facility.

The regulation applies to the following vehicle categories:

Key requirements
Test programme
Tests defined by the regulation are planned and witnessed at an authorised laboratory.
Technical documentation
Drawings, schematics and specifications of the electrical system are reviewed against the requirements.
Safety provisions
Protection against electric shock, isolation and functional safety of the power train are verified.
Marking and information
Approval marking and manufacturer information requirements are checked before the report is issued.
